FALL BACK INTO YOUR PRACTICE

The first day of fall is September 22, 2026.

“It is the Summer’s Great Last Heat,
It is the Fall’s First Chill: They Meet!”

— Sarah Morgan Bryan Piatt

There is something beautiful about the transition into fall. The pace of summer begins to shift, the light changes, and we naturally begin to settle into a different rhythm.

After a summer filled with travel, vacations, gatherings, and changing schedules, it’s easy to fall off your routine.

So perhaps this season, it’s time to FALL BACK.

Fall back into the original intention of Joseph Pilates’ method.
Fall back into the purpose behind the practice.
Fall back into your routine or create a new one.

Joseph Pilates brought his method to the United States 100 years ago. Although our lifestyles have changed dramatically since then, the principles of his method remain remarkably relevant.

Today, we move less, sit more, and spend more time surrounded by technology and sensory stimulation. Our bodies have adapted to these demands, but they still need movement, space, breath, and awareness.

As the days begin to shorten, fall into lengthening more, creating space within the body so that we can strengthen with greater awareness and reduce the risk of injury.

And as the holiday season approaches, a time for connection, celebration, and gathering, give yourself the opportunity to pause and be present.

Pilates asks us to do just that.

With every exercise, return to the fundamental principles:

Breathe.
Concentrate.
Control.
Center.
Flow.
Precision (not perfection!)

At Sentirsi Pilates, we believe the method is more than a collection of exercises. It is a practice of becoming more aware of how you move, how you breathe, and how you connect with your body.  With proper instruction and consistent repetition, these principles become integrated into the body, allowing movement to become intrinsic.

So as the leaves begin to change, perhaps let this season be your invitation to return to yourself.

Fall back into your practice.
Fall back into your breath.
Fall back into movement.

Wishing you a colorful, cool, and cozy Autumn. 🍂
